Screw-retained bar and bridge constructions on BEGO Semados® S/RI implants
Screw-retained prostheses on implants are becoming increasingly important in implant prosthodontics. Peri-implant problems caused by the limited possibility of subgingival cement removal are fuelling the heated debate on 'cementing versus screwing'. A new treatment concept for screw-retained constructions on BEGO Semados® S/RI implants will be available with the MultiPlus system from BEGO Implant Systems from September.
Immediate restoration on four implants using specially designed screw-retained prosthetic abutments (0° and 20°/30° angled Sub-Tec MultiPlus abutments) for edentulous patients offer both patients and dentists new options. The system is hugely popular in implant-based bar and bridge constructions. One outstanding feature is the possibility of offsetting marked divergences in implants with different Sub-Tec MultiPlus abutments. The perfectly matched prosthetic components enable various options for (temporary and permanent) restorations and distribute the resulting forces evenly across all the implants.
"The perfect solution for avoiding large augmentations in awkward anatomical regions where only a limited amount of bone is available," comments BEGO Implant Systems product management.
The first successful clinical cases were presented in an impressive talk by Dr. Han v. Dijk (Implantologie Amersfoort, Holland) at the Mediterranean Symposium in Sitges in May. The new MultiPlus System is available since September 2011.
